Warm weather, a BBQ, friends and cold beverages. Sounds like perfection!

Will you add a fundraising twist to one of your summer BBQs this year to raise money for Simakakata Community School?

The 40 minute BBQ

Give yourself 40 minutes of BBQing time, ask your friends to donate 40 minutes to help make snacks, salads and nibbles. Then ask everyone to make a small donation for the food which you give to LearnAsOne.

You can keep the 40 minute theme going through the event if you like. 40 minute DJ slots, 40 minutes of table service, games that last 40 minutes, and so on.

If you fancy going larger scale then go for it. Your local pub, a summer fete or your student halls of residence all make perfect venues. Charge by the item and donate the profits. You could even try and negotiate a cut of any bar takings your BBQ helps to pull in.

Here’s to a brilliant summer of sunshine and fundraising BBQs!
